The meeting was organized by Beth Lowry, Chair of the Building and Technology Committee of the Board. President Olens shared with participants his commitment to the New Construction Manage ment building program and the importance of the CM program for the state of Georgia. ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ is one of only two universities in the State of Georgia to offer an undergraduate degree in Construction Management and the only one in the metro Atlanta area.
A Steering Council was formed to promote the goals of the Building and Technology Committee. The Steering Council includes Tommy Holder (Holder Construction), Millard Choate (Choate Construction), Randy Hall (Batson-Cook) and Don Davidson (Inglett and Stubbs). Tommy Holder and Don Davidson also spoke on the occasion. Beth Lowry of Holder Construction Company agreed to serve as the Secretary to the Council. The committee’s purpose is to promote the project and assist the ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Development team with strategic approaches to reach out to potential donors.
