The department of Architecture welcomes back Dr. William Carpenter, FAIA, as he returns from his visiting scholar position at the Texas A&M University College of Architecture.
The ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ department of Architecture and the Texas A&M James D. Tittle '49, FAIA Visiting Professorship provided support for Dr. Carpenter’s visit to College Station from July 2021 to December 2021. During this time he pursued collaborative research related to design-build education and develop a dialogue between ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ and TAMU in this realm of inquiry.
His activities at the TAMU College of Architecture included professional-in-residence research activity in collaboration with faculty and Masters/PhD students in the Departments of Architecture, Visualization, and Construction Science. He also led a semester-long studio from concept to completion and provided an inspiring public lecture to the students and faculty of TAMU along with a large virtual audience.
²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Architecture is honored to have supported Dr. Carpenter for this educational leave of absence and we look forward to the academic outcomes that will be made evident in our department during the Spring Semester of 2022 as a result of this external engagement.
