Career and Academic Opportunities

The Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) is a multi-disciplinary degree that prepares students with a foundation in project management skills in the construction industry. MSCM is a natural follower of the Bachelor of Science in Construction Management for the General Concentration. The degree focuses on the advanced academic knowledge of project management principles and applying that knowledge to solve construction problems. This accelerated pathway will give students a unique preparation for advanced positions, such as project manager, building design and construction, development firms, municipalities, project/sector managers, facility managers, and operations managers. Besides project management skills, students can learn sustainable design and Construction, Virtual Design and Construction, and Construction associated Risk Management. According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, salaries for individuals holding a construction management master's degree are more than 10 percent higher than the average salary for construction management with only a bachelor's degree. This pathway will allow students to complete their undergraduate and graduate studies within five years.
