Career and Academic Opportunities
The Master of Arts in Professional Writing degree prepares candidates for a wide variety of writing-related positions in film/tv writing as well as other creative, editing, and writing and/or content-creation focused careers.
Bachelor of Science in Media and Entertainment students pursuing a Double Owl with the Norman J Radow College of the Humanities and Social Sciences Master of Arts in Professional Writing will be equipped with more in-depth knowledge and experience to pursue advanced post-graduate studies and career opportunities than those afforded with a solitary BS. This path should be particularly appealing to students wishing to pursue writing in film/television and other streaming venues, as well as web-based content creation. It will also introduce a variety of other possible careers in writing along with the professional tools to fundraise and market in these arenas.
Completion of the Double Owl uniquely positions students to apply for ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ’s MAPW program. Many MAPW graduates pursue terminal degrees at such institutions as Arizona State University, Georgia State University, Miami University-Oxford Ohio, Colorado State University, University of Georgia, Union University, Mercer University, ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ State University, and Columbus State University.
