Career and Academic Opportunities

The pairing should allow Philosophy/MAPW graduates to find employment in a variety of fields, including publishing, education, business, nonprofits, the arts and public service. Philosophy majors completing the program will bring expertise to writing in additional contexts, including those involving ethics and non-Western thought. With the more recent addition of classes in screenwriting, social media, and web content, MAPW graduates are advancing in the new demand fields, as well.

Admission Requirements


Double Owl Admission Requirements 
  • ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ GPA of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
  • Completed 60 hours toward the BA in Philosophy, with 30 hours at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ.
Double Counted Courses Include
  • PRWR 6000 to count for Upper-Division Elective
  • Graduate Concentration Course to count for Upper-Division Elective*
  • Graduate Concentration Course to count for Upper-Division Elective*
