Career and Academic Opportunities

The Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering is a natural follower of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology. This accelerated pathway will give students a unique preparation for advanced positions, such as project manager, engineering manager, senior engineer, etc. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, salaries for individuals holding a mechanical engineering master’s degree are 9 to 13 percent higher than the average salary for mechanical engineers with only a bachelor’s degree.

Admission Requirements

Double Owl Admission Requirements 
  • GPA: 3.2 
  • 60 hours completed toward Bachelor’s degree
  • 12 hours completed in residence at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ

Double Counted Courses Include

  • ME 6210 to count for MET General Concentration Course 1
  • Any ME 6000 level course to count for MET General Concentration Course 2
  • ENGR 6120 - OR - SYE 6010 to count for MET General Concentration Course 3
