Federal Student Loans and Grants

The U.S. Federal Government has many financial aid options to help offset the cost of an education. If you apply for financial aid, you may be offered loans as part of your school’s financial aid offer. A loan is money you borrow and must pay back with interest. Students seeking financial aid should apply using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA determines eligibility for all Federal Aid, including (but not limited to):

  • Grant available to low-income undergraduate students. Financial need is determined by information entered on the FAFSA. Learn More

  • Grant provides up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. The annual amount is subject to change based on potential federal reductions in spending. More information is available on the Federal Student Aid TEACH Grant website.

  • Grant available to students receiving the Pell Grant and calculated to have a zero expected family contribution per the FAFSA.

Many students work on- or off-campus during the school year. Several campus programs are available for students who want to work during their time in school.
