Student Disability Testing Services

Student Disability Services is dedicated to enhancing student learning by providing accessible testing services for students registered with Student Disability Services. Student Disability Services is committed to maintaining the highest compliance with nationally recognized testing standards and practices, safeguarding confidentiality of student records, and creating an optimal testing environment in order to meet the needs of students and faculty.

 

Student Disability Services does not provide proctoring services for the following:

  • Proctoring services for any course exams for ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ students who are not registered with SDS.
  • Proctoring services for members of the surrounding ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ community.
  • Proctoring services for standardized exams or other assessments.

This is done through the Testing Center.

Test Scheduling Procedures

Please review the Test Scheduling Procedures before you arrive for your first test. If you have any questions or concerns, ask the testing staff before you begin your test, or email sdstesting@kennesaw.edu.

  • Students must have an appointment to take their exam. Students register for an appointment through  at least FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS in advance. It is the student’s responsibility to inform the instructor of the appointment date, time and testing location.

    Students should arrive at least 5 minutes before their appointment for to check-in and receive test instructions. The student will be escorted to their assigned seat by the proctor. If a student arrives within 15 minutes of their appointment, they may still take their exam; however the appointment end time will remain the same. Students will not be able to make up the lost time due to late arrival. Failure to arrive within 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment may result in rescheduling.

    The last available start time for testing is 2:45pm. All testing must be concluded by 4:45pm. 

  • Students who are taking eCore courses and seeking to use their testing accommodations will need to follow the guidelines below: 

    • Accommodations: Students requiring accommodations during eCore testing must provide a current Faculty Notification Letter (FNL). This FNL should be provided to both the assigned eCore instructor and to eCampus Testing at efaculty@ecampus.usg.edu before the accommodation is needed. 

    • Exam Scheduling: Visit the eCore website at to learn about your proctoring options.  
  • Students are required to show proof of identity at appointment check-in. Students must provide a valid government photo ID such as a Driver’s License, Driver’s Permit, State ID, Passport, Military ID or their ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Student ID.
  • Students are not allowed to bring personal belongings such as backpacks, purses, cell phones and electronic devices into the testing room. Only approved testing materials are allowed in the testing room. All personal belongings will be stored in a designated area within the SDS Office. The SDS Testing Offices do not have secured lockers for storage and are not responsible are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Students are responsible for bringing all required testing materials which are approved by the instructor and/or approved accommodations stated on their Faculty Notification Letter. These items include Scantrons, Blue Books, dictionaries, calculators, pens, pencils; etc. SDS does not provide Scantron answer sheets or Blue Books. Students should consult with their instructor on providing these materials to our office with the exam submission.
  • Students are encouraged use the restroom before entering the testing area. Students who are approved for restroom breaks will need to discuss plan of action with the Testing Staff before gaining access to the test. Extra time is not allotted for these breaks unless warranted by the student’s approved accommodations.
  • Students are allowed to have drinks with a lid, gum, mints and quiet snacks. We ask that food packages be opened before entering the testing room so as not to disturb others.
  • Students need to inform the Testing Staff of any personal or medical needs that may arise during testing prior to the beginning of the test. Should a student experience any personal or medical difficulty or other concerns during the test, they will need to inform the Testing Staff immediately.
  • As a member of the National College Testing Association, we adhere to their professional guidelines for proctoring tests. SDS Testing Offices are equipped with video surveillance to monitor students while taking their exams to maintain an environment of academic integrity.
  • SDS adheres to ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ’s Student Codes of Conduct as stated in the University Catalog. Consistent proctoring and monitoring of tests are enforced. If a student is caught cheating or is suspected of cheating, an Incident Report will be submitted to the instructor.

    Examples of Examinee misconduct:

    • Giving or receiving unauthorized assistance of any kind
    • Using any aids (books, notes, calculators, computers, websites; etc.) that are not authorized in writing by the instructor and/or in the student Faculty Notification Letter
    • Attempting to take a test for someone else
    • Failing to follow test regulations or instructions of the Testing Staff
    • Causing a disturbance of any kind
    • Removing or attempting to remove questions and/or exams from the Testing Office
    • Attempting to remove scratch paper from the Testing Office
    • Sharing a calculator with other examinees
    • Sharing notes with other examinees
    • Talking with other examinees during an exam
