Mission

The Office of Sustainability seeks to empower our ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ community to integrate sustainable principles and practices in everything it does.

Vision

The Office of Sustainability envisions a ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ where sustainability and resilience are inherent in operations research and teaching and embedded in every student's higher education experience.

 

Our Staff

Maria Ceballos

 María del Mar Ceballos

María del Mar Ceballos is the Director of ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ State University’s Office of Campus Sustainability. In her role, she promotes campus engagement and advocacy on pressing sustainability topics with ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ’s students, faculty, and staff, helping the University achieves its sustainability goals. She is critical in the development and implementation of sustainability policies including the recent launch of the University’s first Greenhouse Gas Mitigation plan, and updates to the University’s Sustainability Master Plan. A practicing Architect devoted to sustainable design for over 13 years, María also consults with ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ’s departments of Design and Construction and Campus Operations on sustainable best practices and priorities.

 

Seth Moore

Seth is a Cobb County native who graduated from ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ with a Bachelor's in Environmental Engineering. His professional interests include environmental justice, green infrastructure, and sustainable food systems. He enjoys eating native fruit right off the vine and frolicking through the woods.

Lauren Hughes

Lauren is the Learning Living Lab Coordinator within the Office of Sustainability. In this role, she facilitates experiential education opportunities, prioritizing students’ involvement in project-based learning for sustainability-focused programs throughout campus. Her Learning Living Lab approach promotes students and researchers to conduct studies in vivo, based on local experimentation and an integration of research and innovation in practical situations for real-life solutions. Lauren has a Master of Science in Sustainable Building Technology. Originally from South Georgia, she has lived in both England and California, so her accent varies by the day.
