The Department of Dance at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ is Georgia's largest undergraduate dance program. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance, we offer students a well-rounded dance degree that develops, supports, and prepares students for meaningful careers in dance and other areas. Our diverse faculty of renowned artists and scholars foster creative artistry, innovative research, and professional practices.

We provide a supportive and inclusive environment that prepares the next generation to become versatile dance artists, critical thinkers, creative risk-takers, and visionary leaders. We offer students a Bachelor of Arts in Dance with concentrations in ballet and modern dance. The curriculum is bolstered by our professional presenting season, guest artist residencies, professional partnerships with industry experts, and abundant performance and creative opportunities in state-of-the-art facilities. As a result, ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Dance Company has repeatedly performed at the National College Dance Festival Gala Concert, and in 2021 presented work in ACDA's inaugural Screendance Festival National Gala Concert. Such recognition and distinctions position our program as a leader amongst peer institutions in the Southeast.

We encourage students to take advantage of the many opportunities available on our beautiful campus, and within the vast Atlanta arts community. The annual Pomare/Connor Choreographic Residency invites two choreographers to campus each summer to create new works on ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ dancers. We partner with the Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre which provides our students with the opportunity to take masterclasses with TMBT company members. We also offer life-changing study abroad opportunities that in the past have brought our students to work with the Batsheva Dance Company and the Henny Jurriens Studio and ICK Amsterdam.

If you're looking for a rigorous and versatile dance program, a student-centered environment, and high-caliber performances, then we're the home for you. If you'd like to schedule a campus visit or dance audition, please email us at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵDance@kennesaw.edu. We invite you to be a part of the Department of Dance at ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ.

Partnerships

At ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Dance, we are committed to offering our students the opportunity to explore and experience the professional practice of dance through a broad range of partnerships. We believe that connections, outreach, and industry partnerships enhance students’ education and lead to valuable career opportunities. We have built connections with local dance studios, professional dance companies, community organizations, embassy and consular services, and nonprofit institutions. Students can pursue internships and employment with many of these organizations, and several of our alumni work professionally with them upon graduation.

Our current partnership with Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre of Atlanta includes weekly masterclasses for the ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Student Dance Company, scholarships for ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ students in Terminus’ intensives, and access to Terminus performances and other events.
